The Cruiser & Junior picnic on Church Island was one of those days
that memories are made of! Many cruisers, 4 canoes and about 7 Oppies sailed to
Church Island (and back) under their own steam. Parents, friends and a
dog got berths on cruisers, Oppies, three club ribs and two private ribs.
The sea was a bit choppy on the way out but all juniors managed perfectly fine
with wind, waves and currents. It was one of these occasions were you
could see how all the training is paying off. Many BBQ's were lit, people
were swimming and a great time was had by all. On the way back, the sea
was perfectly flat and we actually sailed into the sunset!
